Lauren, her husband, and her two daughters
At NWN Mom, we love spotlighting local moms who are building a community while following their passions. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce Lauren Sneider, a Needham mom of two who launched her own interior design business, LRS Interiors. From apple picking adventures with her family to designing spaces that are as livable as they are beautiful, Lauren brings warmth, creativity, and practicality to everything she does. We loved hearing about her journey, her approach to creating family friendly yet stylish homes, and the advice that’s carried her through motherhood. Let’s get to know Lauren!
Tell us about your family!
I live in Needham with my husband Jordan and our two daughters, Marlo (5) and Lenox (3). I grew up in Sharon, so I’ve stayed local, which is great.
What’s your favorite aspect about being part of this community?
My favorite part of this community is how family oriented it is. From schools to weekend events to just seeing familiar faces around town, there’s such a strong support system here for parents. It really makes you feel like you’re not doing it all alone.
What’s your favorite family activity to do in the area?
My answer to this definitely changes with the seasons. Since we’re in fall, I’d say our favorite thing to do as a family is going to farms and apple picking. We especially love spending time at Lookout Farm. The kids enjoy the playground with friends and we often turn it into an evening by staying for dinner afterward.
Can you share a bit about your background and the inspiration behind launching LRS Interiors?
My background is in corporate communications, specifically within the biopharmaceutical industry, but I’ve always had a love for interior design. When my husband and I renovated our home in 2022, something clicked. I realized I had not only a true passion for design, but also a real eye for creating thoughtful, livable spaces.
Then when the company I was working for was acquired last year, I took it as a sign to finally pursue what I had been thinking about for a long time. I was also inspired by my husband who had recently launched his own business, and his leap gave me the confidence to take min. I enrolled in design courses to build on my instincts and shortly after, launched LRS Interiors.
I started LRS Interiors because I saw a need in our community for approachable, contemporary design that balances aesthetics with real life functionality. Spaces that are beautiful, yes, but also work for families and real people. My goal is to create designs that are elevated yet livable, polished yet practical.

How would you define your personal approach to interior design?
My approach to interior design starts with real life- how people actually live, move, and feel in their homes. I focus on creating environments that are not just visually appealing, but also thoughtfully tailored to the rhythms and needs of daily life.
I always being by listening. Understanding a clients lifestyle, routines, and priorities. That insight becomes the foundation for ever single design decision. I’m drawn to a mix of bold and clean elements. Pairing striking statement pieces with streamlines, understated foundations to create spaces that feel both dynamic and balanced.
The result is a space that feels effortless and cohesive, where beauty and function go hand in hand- and where families can truly feel at home.
What are some of your favorite design strategies for creating family-friendly spaces that still maintain a strong aesthetic appeal?
One of my favorite strategies for creating family friendly spaces is choosing materials and pieces that are both durable and beautiful. Performance fabrics, wipeable surfaces, and thoughtfully selected finishes allow clients to actually live in their spaces without constantly worrying about wear and tear. I also love incorporating plenty of hidden or integrated storage, it keeps everyday clutter out of sight and helps the space feel calm and intentional.
Another strategy is designing with flexibility in mind. That might mean selecting furniture that can easily be rearranged for gatherings or creating multi use zones within a room., like a reading nook that doubles as a play space. I also believe you don’t have to sacrifice personality or style just because a space needs to be functional. I often bring in bold artwork, playful textiles, or statement lighting to keep things visually interesting while still prioritizing practically.
The key is finding that sweet spot where form meets function. Where the space supports the realities of family life while still feeling layered, elevated, and personal.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is working with clients. Getting to know them and translating their style and needs into a space that feels uniquely theirs. I love that no two clients are the same; each project brings a new perspective, a new personality, and a new creative challenge. Seeing a client truly happy at the end of the process, knowing they feel seen, heard, and a home in their space, is incredibly fulfilling.
What is the best advice you’ve gotten from another mom?
The best advice I’ve gotten from another mom is that sometimes, parenthood is about surviving, not necessarily thriving, and that’s ok. It’s such a grounding reminder that not every part of motherhood will be perfect, or even close to it. Some days are simply about getting through and that doesn’t make you any less of a good paren. That perspective has helped me give myself more grace, both at home and in my work. Especially when things feel overwhelming or unpredictable.
