Free Admission to Jackson Homestead & Museum
January 2, 2028 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
The Jackson Homestead and Museum displays rotating and permanent exhibits about the history of Newton, Massachusetts, and the Underground Railroad. The Homestead is also home to the Archives of Historic Newton.
Admission is free for everyone on the first weekend of each month.
We are closed on the following dates for holidays: July 4, November 11, December 24 and 25, January 1.
Here you’ll find. . . .
- A federal-style house built in 1809 for Timothy Jackson and his family
- A stop on the Underground Railroad
- A participatory museum with exhibits for children and adults
- Exhibitions about the history of food, farming, and family life; slavery and anti-slavery; and notable people and events in Newton
