Meet Lana Shnayder, a local mom to a 26-year-old son and the passionate owner behind Superior Skin Care & Electrolysis. Originally from Russia, Lana moved to the United States in 1994 and has proudly called the area home ever since. With a lifelong interest in skincare and helping others feel confident in their own skin, Lana followed her passion and built a business centered around care, expertise, and personal connection. She creates a welcoming environment where clients feel comfortable asking questions and focusing on their skincare goals. Whether someone is visiting for the first time or has been a longtime client, Lana’s goal is simple: to help people feel confident, cared for, and comfortable in their skin. Let’s get to know Lana!
Tell us about your family! How many children do you have, where are you from, and where do you live now?
My name is Svetlana Shnayder. I’ve been living in the United States for over 30 years and originally come from Moscow, Russia. I have one son who is 26 years old, and he is a big part of my life.
What’s your favorite aspect about being part of this community?
My favorite part of being part of this community is connecting with other moms—getting to know them, learning about their journeys, and building genuine friendships. I love sharing my passion and expertise in skincare and permanent hair removal, and it’s especially meaningful to meet like-minded people who share the same interests and values.
What’s your favorite family activity to do in the area?
One of my favorite family activities in the area is going for a long walk, and keep discovering the parts of the neighborhood, I haven’t seen before. We also love going for brunch. I love discovering great local spots with delicious food, especially when it means supporting small businesses. It’s a simple but meaningful way to spend time together and enjoy the community.
Tell us more about your background and what inspired you to open Superior Skin Care and Electrolysis.
My background is in nursing, and when we moved to the United States, I was exploring what path to take next. That’s when the opportunity to learn the craft of electrolysis hair removal came my way, followed by formal training in esthetics. I’ve now been in the industry for over 26 years, and I truly can’t imagine doing anything else. What inspires me most is the ability to help people regain their confidence and reclaim their lives by permanently eliminating unwanted hair. Opening Superior Skin Care and Electrolysis allowed me to create a calm, welcoming space where I can offer fully personalized skincare and hair removal plans, always focused on achieving the best possible results for each individual.
What do you love most about what you do?
Results! Literally, such visual transformation, and how grateful and thankful my clients are.
It’s so hard to balance work and mom life. How do you maintain a healthy work life balance?
Balancing work and mom life isn’t easy, but I’ve learned that it starts with showing up for myself. I stay present, make time for a daily workout, and plan my meals ahead so I’m fueling my body properly. I’m a planner by nature—I schedule my workdays, plan my vacations, and when it’s time to relax, I fully enjoy that time. Having a set schedule helps me function at my best, which allows me to show up fully for my clients and my family. I truly believe positive energy is contagious, so I make it a priority to bring that energy into everything I do—at work and at home.
What is the best advice you’ve gotten from another mom?
Don’t give up, and learn to listen and to hear your family members.
What is the best advice you’d like to give a mom?
Release the pressure to be perfect, and embrace being good enough, you matter, start with yourself. if you are happy and healthy, you are able to take care of your loved once.
